Hope This space is filled With memories That haunt me, As they swirl Around my essence, Taunting and teasing My fragile grip on sanity. I feel the thoughts and moods Of souls who've touched me, Through their words and deeds, In countless ways Too numerous to contemplate. Sweet sighs of recognition Slip from my trembling lips, As tears come tumbling Down my burning cheeks. They course across My hot skin, Leaving rivulets That wash away The sadness That pervades my mind. And as the deluge ends... There comes a gentle calmness That wraps me in its safety, Bringing a soothing comfort... Which lulls me back to sleep And sets my soul Soaring free again, To hope and dream Once more.
